One second, I was going along comfortably, and the next second I was lying sopping wet in a muddy puddle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The front wheel of his black, Trek road bike had become wedged in what he described as an inch wide, foot-long crack. It\u2019s definitely not an obvious hole, but it\u2019s very dramatic if you do go in it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Edwards, of Roath, described himself as an unlucky victim to the crack outside the Principality Building Society branch but also says things could have been much worse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was lucky I just got wet. You could fall off literally underneath the wheels of a car if you\u2019d been unlucky and fallen the other way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tori Jones, who lives just off Albany Road, says she would never cycle along the stretch where the accident happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis road is much more intimidating than some of the others where cycle lanes have been made. If you have to dodge all the dangerous drivers, and then also a load of potholes it can\u2019t be a good place to cycle,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dave Hann, owner of Mot\u00f6rlegs, a Cardiff bike workshop, says he hadn&#8217;t noticed an increase in broken wheels, but that potholes can lead to punctures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf your tyres aren\u2019t fully inflated and you hit a curb or pothole it can cause punctures on both sides of the wheel. Any claims which are deemed to be fraudulent are investigated with a view of taking the matter to court.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Edwards hasn\u2019t let the accident discourage him from future cycling though<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA councillor has been in contact with me and said he\u2019ll take it to the next meeting. As long as they fix it it\u2019s fine, these things happen in life. You just have to laugh at it and carry on,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Is Albany Road\u2019s hidden crack Cardiff\u2019s most dangerous pothole?
