Caf\u00e9 in Barry<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>STEPPING onto the station platform at Barry, you might be surprised by jazz filtering through the screech of train brakes and TfW announcements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPeople expect instant coffee and stale sausage rolls, but we\u2019re not about that,\u201d said Alan \u2018Al\u2019 Edge, who started Coaltrains\u2019 station caf\u00e9 in 2022.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe like to surprise them with something better\u2014live jazz, good vibes and a community space where everyone is welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Coaltrains has just started its new&nbsp;<em>Groove Station<\/em> event on Thursday evenings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s all about bringing something fresh and vibrant to the evening,\u201d said Mr Edge. &#8220;We work with different producers, record labels, and DJs to showcase new music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s a nice wind-down after work, with mocktails, sharing platters, and a space for people to connect over good music.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the first event receiving great feedback, the caf\u00e9 is excited to keep building as community, offering more free and accessible events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The best thing is the vibe. People are really responding to it. It\u2019s all about sharing a moment, celebrating creativity, and just enjoying life,&#8221; said Mr Edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Check out <a
