It’s \u00a3735 each — and the council will receive \u00a34.5m to help clear its road repairs backlog <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

EACH pothole reported in the Vale of Glamorgan last year cost an average of \u00a3735 to fix, according to a Freedom of Information request sent to the council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The local authority spent \u00a31.96 million on pothole and pavement repairs in 2024, with 2,666 potholes reported in the same period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a bloody shambles,\u201d said Warren Jones, 54, of Cogan. \u201cI grew up in this area and the roads have been as bad now as ever. You\u2019re dodging potholes from the moment you pull out of your street. It\u2019s like they come round, patch up half of it, and leave the rest to fall apart again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
