Sometimes we\u2019d sell out of one or two things. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;But now we sell out by 10am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s kind of been hard to keep up, I\u2019ll be has been wholesaling desserts, patisserie and afternoon teas to businesses across Cardiff since it opened in 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Mr Coggon, 34, opened a bakery counter for workers at the Freeman\u2019s Parc trading warehouse in February this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe thought, we&#8217;re here anyway, we&#8217;ll just put the counter in and see if anybody trickles in,\u201d said Mr Coggon, who is originaly from Bargoed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA lot of people didn\u2019t know we were actually here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to a viral social media post last week with more than 173,000 views, demand has now skyrocketed for Petit Four\u2019s goodies, which include Nutella croissants, almond slices, cinnamon buns and lemon and raspberry meringue tarts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One customer even travelled 72 miles last weekend to sample the sugary confections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s crazy,\u201d Mr Coggon said.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure chef is famous for his appearances on Channel 4 show Bake Off: The Professionals. He first competed in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe first time it was absolute hell. I hated every second of it. It was just because I didn&#8217;t know what to expect,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe didn&#8217;t show what we could truly do, that\u2019s why I went back on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He returned in 2021 to redeem himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I was like, \u2018I haven&#8217;t represented myself well. You&#8217;ve got something that&#8217;s been done for years &#8211; it just makes it a little bit more indulgent,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The patisserie\u2019s signature item is their pain suisse. Credit: petitfourcardiff.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With the bakery now growing in popularity, Mr Coggon is thinking about future plans, and hopes to set out a seating area and expand the range of patisserie they offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Mr Coggon however, his main ambition lies with education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI suppose the end goal for me has always been too open a pastry academy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 34-year-old said that in France and the rest of Europe, a career in cookery is highly respected. Someone can always show you a different way of doing something that might be better than your way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The Bake Off winner hopes that more people will come and discover the desserts and bakes he creates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s nice to know that people are traveling to us to get some good pastries and good patisserie,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPatisserie is for everyone. People see it as being posh just because I think you hear the word patisserie and think \u2018Oooh that\u2019s fancy\u2019 but essentially it\u2019s just a fancy dessert. It\u2019s no different to having a dessert when you go out for a Sunday roast. It just looks a bit prettier.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Petit Four Patisserie is at Unit 7A Freemans Parc, Penarth Road.
