The organiser and volunteers go out onto the streets in Cardiff to find homeless people, and then they invite them to enjoy the free food, coffee and conversation.
The purpose of this activity is to make homeless people feel the warmth of the community, and to give people with mental health issues some help.
Although this activity has only been going on for two months, it faces some difficulties and shortcomings.
Sarah Jones helps to organise the service. She said ‘I want to have this activity for every day, but we have some problem. We are not really well set up for it. We do not have much machines, so we have to move hot water around and bring it downstairs.’
Mental health is a serious problem in society.
For people, who get addicted to substances, or people who are unwell, or people who have behavioural problems, if they are not plugged into society, things can go bad very quickly.
In addition to providing free food, St John the Baptist City Parish Church has a special volunteer to play the piano so that people can immerse themselves in the world of music and relieve stress.
Abigail Bolley is a volunteer in the church, who plays the piano for nearly two hours.
“Music has a power to change people’s emotion, to make people feel different things,” Abigail told CadiffNewsPlus.
Sarah and the volunteers are trying their best to provide their help to more people, and expect to expand the activity.
Sarah said: ‘We are try our best to make this world a little better place for people, who have fallen through the cracks of our society.”
