Local businesses available to shop online is the new project supported by the Council. How does that change trading for the businesses?
Flower shops, bakeries, jewellery shops, and art shops are just a small part of all businesses which you can find on the digital high street in Penarth. It is now open for shoppers.
Fifty-two businesses in Penarth are part of the first digital high-street in the Vale of Glamorgan – “ShopAppy”.
Vale of Glamorgan Council shared in their website that as high streets across the country are facing increasing challenges of how to keep their businesses going, the innovation “ShopAppy” is being developed, aiming to open new doors for businesses.
The Council’s stated that the project is supported by a scheme which has been developed by the Penarth Business Group who secured £12,000 funding through the Vale of Glamorgan Council in order to operate the scheme during its first years of trading.
In some cases trading digitally is an additional platform for businesses. However, in the times on a pandemic it’s the only option for other.
