As it happened: Tchaikovsky dropped, student CPR training and bike lane concerns

What happened in South Wales on Thursday March 10th

The music of Russian composer Tchaikovsky will not be played by the Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra in their upcoming concert.

The decision has been made in agreement with the city’s St David’s Hall because of the conflict in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, we also looked into a new pilot scheme ran by Cardiff University’s medical students providing CPR training for all university students, and whether Cardiff residents are using the city’s cycle lanes enough.

Pontypridd redevelopment plans

Plans to regenerate Pontypridd town centre have been revealed by Rhondda Cynon Taff Council.

The plans include:

  • Building a new hotel opposite the train station
  • Demolishing the M&S store
  • Redeveloping the former Bingo Hall site
