More than 200 businesses and charities from Cardiff have been recognised at an awards ceremony to celebrate their success and contribution to the city. The Cardiff Life Awards took place last night at City Hall , with sustainability one of the main themes in this year’s categories
The event included 21 categories ranging from best new business to hair and beauty.
The sustainability award was won by Forage Farm Shop and Kitchen in Cowbridge won the sustainability award.
After winning their award, Matt and James, who represented the company said that winning means “we can keep on doing what we are doing, being sustainable” and that “it means we are doing the right thing.”
The Welsh language award celebrates anyone who has worked to promote Welsh across the country and globally. This year’s winner was Tafwyl, the annual festival focusing on Welsh culture.
The festival organiser, Caryl McQuilling, said, “It’s immense to win in this category because it obviously shows the impact that Tafwyl has on the Welsh language” and “I am really, really happy that we won this award tonight.”
The charity award had joint winners this year – bigmoose and Tŷ Hafan, both well-known Welsh charities.
The event hosts said that “all of us should, and can, try to be more mindful of sustainability.”
