Matt Sherratt has said he is aiming to “sign off with a win” in his final Six Nations game against England as interim head coach for Wales.
Sherratt said he is unlikely to carry on his role regardless of the games’ outcome, despite an emotional display on Thursday when he revealed what the role has meant to him and his family.
He added the game will be a test to find the “balance between heart and brain” and that a win would be “huge” for the team.
Wales put on an impressive display against Scotland in the second-half last week – coming back from 28-8 at half time to 35-29 at the final whistle.
Sherratt also reflected on Wales’ sixteen-match losing streak. He said, “Although we haven’t had the results we’ve wanted over the last 12 to 18 months , there’s a huge amount of effort and huge amount of positivity in camp and hopefully we can keep plugging away and that’ll turn at some point.”
On the pitch ahead of Saturday, two changes have been made to the side that were beaten by Scotland, with Aaron Wainwright set to start on the wing and Joe Roberts at flanker.
