A father is against LGBTQ+ lessons in his son’s Birmingham school
A Birmingham father is facing jail time after refusing to send his nine-year-old son to school due to LGBTQ+ equality lessons taking place.
Jabar ‘Jay’ Hussain could receive a £2,500 fine and a three-month jail sentence.
He has alleged that the lessons posed a ‘safeguarding risk’ and caused confusion among young children, and that the decision to prosecute breached his human rights.
Mr Hussain also stated previously that he did not want to tell his son it is ‘okay to be gay’ and challenged the notion of gender identity protected by the Equality Act of 2010.
Mr Hussain faces being taken to court by council authorities, but continues to protest outside his son’s school regarding the lessons.
