Cardiff University scores low internationally, remains committed to student satisfaction
Cardiff University did not place on the Times Higher Education top 200 list, a result which disappointed the Welsh Government. But the university remains committed to focusing on student satisfaction.
A Welsh Government spokesperson has expressed the government’s disappointment with the result, stating, “Welsh universities must demonstrate a commitment to change in order to be able to compete on the world stage.”
However, a Cardiff University spokesperson argues that the Times Higher Rankings did not take into account measurements of student experience or satisfaction when ranking the universities. This proved a disadvantage for Cardiff, as the university prioritises the enhancement of its students’ educational experience.
The university spokesperson insists that, “Cardiff remains one of the most popular destinations in the UK for student applicants.”
