True Taste Awards: 10 years on

Welsh food Oscars celebrate landmark anniversary

Wales the True Taste Food and Drink Awards will be blowing out 10 candles this week as they dish out gongs for Welsh food excellence.

The awards, which take place on 20 October in Llandudno, were established 10 years ago by the Welsh Government to promote and celebrate the quality and variety of Welsh produce.

Winners can adopt the True Taste logo, which as the Welsh Government’s James Perry says, “Allows consumers to see you have an award-winning product.”

The awards have helped to catapult hundreds of companies into both niche and heavyweight retailers, in the UK and abroad. James continued, “Over the last 10 years the brand has become recognisable as a sign of quality.” Indeed, there were a staggering 1,017 entries this year.
