Cardiff takes the world stage to honour Mr Tambourine Man
Cardiff will be blessed with a different kind of blues next month when it pays tribute to legendary musician Bob Dylan.
Bob’s Birthday Bash will celebrate the icon’s 70th birthday as well as marking his 50 years in the industry in a series of talks on his legacy headed by the world’s leading authorities on the star.
As one of Dylan’s favourite venues, Cardiff was one of the few UK appearances on his 2011 European tour, says Professor David Boucher, speaker and Head of the School of European Studies.
“Even from the very early days when he went electric, he came to Cardiff by ferry across the Severn and played the Capital Theatre in 1966.”
The two-day event will take place on 17 and 18 November.
