Since hitting our screens eight years ago, The X Factor has been the live music event of most people’s weekends.
However, with news of ratings plummeting by three million from last year, has The X Factor lost sight of its musical roots? The Sun reported last week that Simon Cowell was “furious” with the decline. So why are people turning off?
Here in Cardiff, a huge variety of live music alternatives are on offer. Cardiff’s wide breadth of live venues includes the newly reopened Cardiff Arts Institute and bars like Buffalo Bar and Clwb Ifor Bach. With last weekends Swn Festival also proving a success, we asked the people of Cardiff what they thought the city’s music scene has to offer over the show.
