Concerns access will be restricted if track is removed
A Cowbridge tourist attraction says it faces closure after Vale of Glamorgan Council told it to remove a track used for access to the site.
Coed Hills Rural Artspace (CHRA) laid the track in 2007 to avoid visitors’ vehicles getting stuck. “The Vale Council advertise our activities,” says Rawley Clay from CHRA. “Then people come here and we have to tow them out of the mud.” However, there is no planning permission for the track.
The main reasons given for the enforcement notice from the council are aesthetic and environmental but Rawley says those are the two things CHRA prioritise as an arts space.
CHRA are now appealing to the Welsh government. They are asking people to write letters of support before Friday 18 November.
