The future of the press and the effect of the Leveson Inquiry will be discussed
Hacked Off? Reform, Regulation, Democracy and the Press will examine the recent media scandals which have made journalists one of the least trusted professions in theUK.
The debate will ask where the public, Government and the press itself now stand, looking in particular at the ongoing Leveson Inquiry and what it will mean for future press regulation.
The panel includes Online Sub Editor of the Independent Rob Williams, who said, “There has been a lot of talk about Leveson, the News of the World and phone hacking, but not much discussion in a wider space from ordinary folk.
“It is right that journalism students take an interest in the industry; whatever is discussed, is debated, will lead to further regulation, whether that be internal or external.”
