Unemployed people in Cardiff are getting their groove back by holding discos in a Riverside restaurant.
Once a month, the Rockin’ Chair hosts an unemployed daytime disco.
The event, which celebrates its one year anniversary in December, was launched by musicians Adam Johannes and Bronwen Davies to combat the loneliness and isolation which comes with being unemployed.
Bronwen, who lost her job as an arts development officer due to funding cuts, says, “Adam and I were both unemployed, quite lonely and not utilising our skills and experience, we set it up in order to conquer social isolation.”
At the Caribbean restaurant, unemployed musicians and poets perform for one another and enjoy a few worry-free hours.
