Cardiff’s up and coming musicians bring diverse influences to classical concert
St Edward’s Church will play host to Cardiff’s emerging musical talent with a concert this Friday. Cor Cyfoes, a chamber choir showcasing and developing the city’s up and coming singing and composing talent will be performing at the Roath church on 25 November.
The programme for the event will feature music written by student composers as well as an eight-piece choir. All the pieces have been written within the last 10 years and encompass a range of musical styles.
“The variety people can expect is really quite wide,” said Matthew Clark, the conductor of the event and founding member of Cor Cyfoes. He explained that the inspiration behind the evening’s compositions came from such diverse influences as early medieval, classic romantic and 21st century Japanese music.
