Cardiff city is currently undergoing a road-resurfacing programme. The major road resurfacing work started on 1 October and is estimated to finish on the 22 October. The resurfacing is an on-going programme of works and it may be delayed or cancelled particularly during poor weather conditions.
Alistair Love, Highways & Waste Management, says, “We know that resurfacing the roads in Cardiff will cause an inconvenience to some, but having essential road works are simply inevitable.”
The programme is being funded through the Council’s budget and the Welsh Local Government Borrowing Initiative. Under this initiative, Cardiff Council is investing an additional amount of approximately £5 million in road resurfacing during 2012 and 2013, and a further £10 million in highway improvements over the following two years.
