Half of adults intended to increase sports participation after the Olympics says Deloitte.
Olympic sponsor, Deloitte, surveyed 2,000 adults and found that 18% planned to take up a new sport while 27% intended to participate more in a sport they already play and 5% a mixture of the two.
The survey was carried out at the end of August, at the height of Olympic fever, but whether these figures are now representative of current, adult sport participation is unclear.
Heather Hancock, Deloitte partner, said, “Clearly, it is one thing to say you will take up a new sport and another to actually do it.”
As a host city, Olympic spirit was widespread in Cardiff but has that affected sport participation since the Games finished?
