Fancy a side of spiritual enlightenment with your samosas? Why not visit vegetarian cafe cum yoga studio Cafe Atma?
Run by a team of Hare Krishna volunteers, Cafe Atma combines healthy Asian-inspired food with urban meditation workshops and yoga classes. Every Monday and Thursday evening, the cafe runs drop-in yoga sessions at beginner to intermediate level, followed by a vegetarian meal and dessert that’s included in the price (£6 with an NUS card, £8 without). Dina Dayala, who runs the classes, describes Bhakti yoga as a culmination of the yoga system as a whole: “It places great importance on food, particularly food made with love and devotion – it’s a big thing!”
