Wild Weekend: It's wonderful for wildlife
Keep Wales Tidy is running a Wild Weekend campaign from 26 to 28 October to kick-start 190 environmental projects in communities across Wales.
The projects, financed with £23,200 worth of Homebase vouchers, aim to benefit local species by improving biodiversity. Community groups and organisations throughout Wales will be rolling up their sleeves to plant trees, dig ponds and build bug boxes in an effort to create new wildlife havens.
The campaign is being funded by Homebase, the Countryside Council for Wales and the Welsh Assembly.
Lesley Jones, Chief Executive of Keep Wales Tidy, said: “I am delighted that so many groups applied for, and received Homebase vouchers and plan to go wild for Wales. I look forward to seeing the results of their hard work.”
