This month will see museums across Wales “taken over” by children and teenagers. Organised by a national charity this has been done before in England, but this is the event’s first time in Cardiff.
Alice Hockey from Kids in Museums said: “The sense of ownership led one girl to stand guard at a statue as her tour group moved passed it. Another kid started to speak about it as ‘his’ museum collection forcing his parents into endless return visits.”
As well as teaching kids about the value and interest of museums, regular patrons should expect to find their visit that little bit more entertaining and engaging. The youngsters will have front of house roles, and have the chance to meet and greet visitors.
