Visitors to the city centre can now access brand new touchscreen points to get up to the minute travel information, following a move by Cardiff Council and the Welsh Government to create a sustainable transport system in Cardiff.
The outdoor screens provide information and advice on bus services, taxi ranks, cycle parking and rail stations amongst other services, as well as providing the facility to plan journeys.
Named Smart Travel Information Points, this new technology is part of Cardiff’s Sustainable Travel City project. Collating the information together will help people get around the city, says Cabinet Member for Strategic Planning, Highways, Traffic and Transportation Cllr Ralph Cook.
He says, “It’s important that we provide the right infrastructure and information so that people know their options.”
