Convicted rapist Ched Evans could once again put on his football boots and represent his national team in Cardiff.
A return is not imminent, as he is not signed to a club, but it has not been ruled out by the Football Association of Wales.
Evans was jailed for five years in April 2012 for raping a 19 year old, who was judged too drunk to give consent. However, he was released last week.
In a video statement he says, “It is a rare and extraordinary privilege to be permitted to play professional football. It is my hope that I will be able to return.”
The former Sheffield United striker represented Wales on 13 occasions, but a possible return to the international fold has caused a split in opinion.
