Museum showcases best Welsh produce

Thanks to the success of a recent food festival a Cardiff museum now hosts a regular farmers’ market showcasing the best local produce.

The National History Museum is running a weekly farmers’ market after the popularity of The St Fagans Food Festival in September.

Launched on 23 November, St Fagans Farmers’ Market takes place every Sunday from 10am-4pm and includes vegetables, meats, cheeses, sweets and drinks from the region’s best food producers.

Pembrokeshire-based confectionary company Oh Sugar Plum will offer sweets alongside the meat, vegetable and cheeses on sale at the market.

Organiser Maredd Maggs said, “Food production has always been important for us at St Fagans.  This is a great opportunity for us to support local businesses and for our visitors to buy some quality Welsh produce.”  

The market is held under a newly erected marquee in Wales’s most popular heritage attraction.
