‘Industrial-styled’ eatery to reach city

The latest planned addition to Cardiff’s vibrant food scene comes in the form of Urban Standard. The bar & kitchen, which originated in Bristol, is renowned for its stripped-back architectural design and thistle tiles.

It is the first Urban Standard outside Bristol’s two restaurants, which offer a great variety of British food from burgers to squash risotto. Director Dominic Wood says a name is still being decided upon.

Wood says “We chose Cardiff because there is a really vibrant up and coming food and drink scene there. I lived there for a number of years and it fits our brand perfectly.”

It plans to open its doors in February or March of next year.
