Swn, Cardiff’s favourite music festival, returns this weekend with a host of raw Welsh talent.
Founded in 2007 by BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and local music mogul John Rostron, Swn Fest uncovers talented artists in a series of gigs spanning the city centre.
This year musicians handpicked by BBC Cymru Wales’ Horizons scheme – which promotes Welsh artists to a wider audience – will take to the stage on Saturday at Clwb Ifor Bach.
Festivalgoers can expect a nine-hour music marathon from artists like Dan Bettridge, who said the Horizons scheme has created “real opportunities for the artists involved”.
“There really is great support for Welsh artists in Wales,” he said. “Swn Fest always puts on an array of Welsh artists from all genres. It’s always a pleasure playing Swn.”
