Office workers, freelancers and coffee aficionados rejoice: one of Cardiff’s favourite coffee shops is opening a new location in the city’s tallest office building.

Popular local business Kin+Ilk already has a number of coffee shops around the city, but is set to add a sixth in Capital Tower, in the north of the city centre.

The local chain boast packaging that’s 100% compostable and get their coffee from El Salvador, visiting the provider annually. They have five locations across the city centre, including one in St. David’s Dewi Sant.

Other locations the coffee shop operates in include Capital Quarter, just to the south of John Lewis and Motorpoint Arena in the city centre, Pontcanna, to the west of the city centre, local business hub The Maltings, and Brunel House, near Queen Street station.

At each coffee shop, it offers its sustainable coffee and food from Welsh suppliers including artisan baker Alex Gooch and Douglas Willis Butchers. Breakfast, brunch and lunch are served daily, along with a range of ‘Grab + Go’ items for those in a hurry.

The new location in Capital Tower is part of a range of changes in the building, which has seen a multi million pound refurbishment. Capital on Tap, who provide businesses with business credit cards and loans, have signed up for a longer lease, and a range of firms have signed leases or extended their current lease in the building, including Thompsons Solicitors, Pageant Media Limited and Admiral Insurance.

Speaking to Wales 247, John James of letting agents Fletcher Morgan who represented the current landlord of Capital Tower in recent lettings said, “Capital Tower’s position within Cardiff’s core office and leisure district and at the heart of the city centre has always been a popular choice for occupiers”, describing the new branch of Kin+Ilk as adding to its attraction.”
