A host of artistic, musical and cultural events take place this October to mark a celebration of Black history in Cardiff.
Events raising awareness of black history have stretched from Betty Campbell’s events in Butetown in 1973 all the way to the present day. The Black Voluntary Sector Network Wales and the Millennium Centre have joined forces once again, putting on numerous events throughout the month that will both educate and serve as a connection between the Welsh public and African heritage.
Leon Charles, actor in one of the events, says, ‘’I’m glad to see Black History Month being recognized because Britain is becoming more multicultural.’’
Events cater for all ages and backgrounds, so there is something for everyone this October.
