Getting your five-a-day just got a little easier; it’s mushroom season and Wild Food UK is offering foraging courses to teach you how to pick the edible ones.
Bute Park may not be where you would expect to get dinner, but the selection of wild plants is what has brought the Wild Food team back for the fourth year running.
Course leader Marlow says foraging gives you access to flavours that you can’t get or can’t afford in the shops, but don’t eat anything that has not been identified.
Though foraging is not necessarily going to satisfy all your nutritional needs Marlow maintains, “It makes your food bills a little bit cheaper and normally your dinner is a little bit tastier.”
Courses will take place October 26 and 27
