Llanishen Good Neighbours will relaunch under the new title of Good Neighbours in North Cardiff on October 29 .
The name change aims to better represent the area that the charity covers.
Treasurer Alison Gibbons said that, “It was confusing for some people because they thought we wouldn’t cover them.”
Good Neighbours was established in 1981 as a community effort to support residents who needed extra help to remain independent in their own homes.
The charity’s grant of £8000 from the council was cut last year, but the volunteers have still been doing all they can to provide care to North Cardiff.
Alison believes that they have survived where similar organisations have not thanks to client and sponsor donations and being “very prudent with our spending”.
