Ten Feet Tall hosts spoken word poetry contest
A knockout poetry competition is being held at Ten Feet Tall to raise money and awareness for the Cardiff Samaritans.
The evening will consist of 14 contestants reading original poetry over four separate rounds. The audience then gives each poem a mark out of ten, with half the poets being eliminated each round until a winner is found.
The event, which takes place this 23 November, will be attended by members of the Samaritans who will also answer questions and provide information.
Samaritan Steven Kenward explained the significance behind the first round theme of listening.
“It is the core of what we do at Samaritans,” he said. “We are there to listen to anybody who’s going through distress or despair.”
