Greggs comes out on top in Cardiff mince pie challenge
Greggs was the shock winner of the alt.cardiff public mince pie taste test today beating challengers such as Tesco Finest and Co-op Truly Irresistible.
The high street bakery’s pie, priced at £1.40 for six, was the resounding public favorite with 40% of the vote, closely followed by Asda’s standard option with 33%.

The test was carried out in Cardiff earlier today and provided some interesting results, with so called budget brands coming out on top.
More expensive pies from the Tesco Finest and the Coop Irresistible rages, both of which boast brandy amongst their ingredients, were not so well received with one taster claiming, “It tastes too alcoholic, I don’t like it.”
The least favorite pie in the comprehensive survey was Mr. Kipling which received 0% of the votes.
