Wales’s finest chamber choir, Cantemus, returns home to Cardiff to participate in an upcoming concert celebrating the anniversaries of G.Gabrieli and Hassler.
The forthcoming concert will range from Gabrieli’s Nunc Dimittis for 17 voices, to Schütz’s Selig sind die Toten, which inspired Brahms to write his German Requiem.
Musical director of Cantemus chamber choir Huw Williams says, “We’ve enjoyed rehearsing the colourful and sonorous music and the sumptuous splendour of a city in its glory is present in the rich music by Gabrieli.”
Cantemus is an experienced chamber choir made up of 30 singers that draws its membership from Cardiff and the surrounding area. “We are all excited to have the opportunity to perform with the world renowned His Majesty’s Sackbuts and Cornetts.” Huw added.
