Daring to Dream Lleswyl Festival 2023

The charity Daring to Dream is hosting a virtual festival for the first time since 2021. The charity targets those who are suffering from long-term illnesses and gives them the opportunity to take part in something they wouldn’t normally be apart of.

The pandemic has had long lasting effects to those who are considered medically vulnerable. They are restricted from large outdoor gathering as it has negative effect on their health.

Lleswyl 2023 brings the online festival to their home. Live bands and comedians will perform tonight for thousands nationwide with the aim to bring them together in the joy of live entertainment.

The founder of the organisation Barbara Chidgey believes “many people loving with chronic illness feel quite neglected because all those online events during the pandemic are all gone.”

The festival encompasses a variety of music and arts from diverse backgrounds to create an all inclusive space at the event.

The event has been promoted on social media by multiple influencers. Tiktok Kidney Warrior has over eighty-nine thousand followers on Tik-Tok. He posts daily videos about his struggles with Kidney disease. Recent posts have been about the excitement of the event and how accessible it is. “Music is the soul of people and to get together with loads of chronic illness patients and just listen to music is amazing.”

Lleswyl will be free and will start at 7pm on Friday 17th Febuarary. The charity focused on accessibility as the main benefit fow having a festival performed to you in the comfort of your own home.

Tonight will be an experience that many of us were used too during lockdown. But for those in attendance tonight this is the reality of staying safe at events.
