St Fagans hosts Iron age food event

St Fagans reveals the benefits of eating like a Celt

In a time when food prices are rapidly increasing, and there is growing awareness about our food sources, are there any lessons we can learn from our ancestors?

The Winter Foods from the Iron Age event coming to St Fagans on 12 and 13 November will aim to show us how useful the Iron age diet can be to modern living.

Ian Daniel, organiser of the event, claims, “A lot of food we eat now is pre-packaged by some-one else and we don’t know anything about it. This event is an opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding about our surroundings and the uses of nature.”

Ian will explain how everyday plants, like hawthorn and meadowsweet, have a range of uses including antiseptics and painkillers.
