This weekend sees Cardiff Foodbank’s final collection of the year
If you have already done your Christmas shopping and have anything in abundance, then Cardiff Foodbank is interested.
The food bank is holding its last collection of 2011 on Saturday 3 December at Sainsbury’s on Colchester Avenue in Penylan. It aims to fight hidden hunger by supporting people in Cardiff who struggle to feed themselves.
The founder, Ian Purcell, said, “We’ve already had a few from earlier this month, but any Christmas donations would be appreciated.”
Christmas foods being sought out include traditional items like Christmas pudding, tinned ham and mince pies.
Ian added, “Last year, we got 400kg of food at our Christmas collection from that one specific collection.
“Hopefully we can do the same this year.”
