An award-winning pub in Cowbridge is rolling in the casks for its Real Ale Festival this weekend to coincide with the town’s Food and Drink Festival.

The Vale of Glamorgan Inn will have 36 to 40 ales and 10 ciders available. The festival begins on Friday 26 October with live music from local band, Diamonds in the Rough.

With more breweries opening in Wales the popularity of real ale is high. Landlord James Fletcher is optimistic the Inn will be busy throughout the weekend. “Over the two days,” he says, “we expect thousands of people to come in.”

Guest breweries include Bullmastiff, Otley, Celt Experience, Kite and Gwynt y Ddraig Cider and Perry Company whose Farmhouse Pyder will, according to Fletcher, knock your head off.
