The Co-operative plans to enhance its service to the local Cardiff community and have announced two new stores in Cardiff. The UK’s fifth biggest supermarket chain will be opening their new stores in Llandaff North and Cardiff Bay.
Julian Pugh, Operations Manager, Co-operative Food in Cardiff, said, “This investment in Cardiff will certainly see an enhanced service for the local community.”
The food retailer is planning to open a new 2,000 square foot store on Pierhead Street in Cardiff Bay in December this year. Whilst the Llandaff North store will be doubled to 2,500 square feet as part of a relocation on Station Road in 2013. The stores will create 12 new jobs, whilst still protecting 14 existing jobs at the Llandaff North shop.
