Talk of countries striving for independence was rife during Scotland’s independence referendum but city suburbs had been overlooked, until now.
Organisers behind a bid for Roath’s independence have announced they will soon reveal their policies following a majority of ‘yes’ voters in a ballot held in a pub on Sunday.
The somewhat satirical vote, which is not being recognised by The City of Cardiff Council, showed 254 votes in favour of independence with 14 against.
The curator of The Actual History Museum of Roath, who goes by the moniker Sir Alfred Streer took to Facebook to declare the that policies will be announced soon.
He says, “Now perhaps Westminster, Cardiff Bay and Cardiff Council will take notice of Roath, the mouse that roared for democracy.”
