“I think relevance comes from how honest a musician can be with their music and what he/she creates,” says Eaves

Fresh off the boat from touring in Europe and playing some of the biggest festivals in the UK, Joseph Lyons – better known as Eaves – will perform at Clwb Ifor Bach on 26 October.

The young artist with an uncannily old soul is on tour in the UK, promoting the deluxe version of his acclaimed debut album What Green Feels Like.

When asked how he described his sound, Lyons said it couldn’t be classified as folk in the traditional sense; he focuses on “guitar-driven songwriting” with the band creating “an audible aura for the song to move around in.”

Fans who have hit replay on his record too many times already can look forward to fresh material to obsess and arrest them; Eaves will release a new single As Old As The Grave on 16 October.

As for the gig he warns, “It’ll be louder than you might think.”
