The liquid nitrogen ice-cream parlour, Science Cream will relaunch this week after a flood froze trade in July.
Water damage resulted in the Cardiff based Castle Arcade business missing out on key sales periods during the Rugby World Cup and Halloween, with staff numbers dwindling from nine to three.
Managing director, Carly Karran, 30, explained that the business was cut down in its prime, having only launched last summer.
The team’s confidence in the dessert has not evaporated, however. Liquid nitrogen boils at -196C, and produces an incredible, rich, dense product.
“It’s the Rolls Royce of ice-cream”, Karran enthuses.
There are plans to introduce competitions, a happy hour and Christmas flavours when Science Cream reopens on Friday, 6 November.
The cold never bothered ice-cream lovers anyway.
