Elim celebrations reach Cardiff

Elim Pentecostal church will celebrate its centenary in St David’s Hall this month.

Cardiff will host the celebrations on Friday 14 November – becoming one of six British cities to do so.

After a speech from general superintendent John Glass, there will be worship and musical performances from members of the local Elim churches.

Chris Cartwright, the church’s regional leader for Wales, said, “This is a celebration where we look back on Elim’s story over the past hundred years and look ahead.”

Video presentations will be used to remind attendees of the work of founder George Jeffreys, who preached in Cardiff venues such as Wood Street Congregational Church during the 1930s. These gatherings were instrumental in the growth of Elim churches in South Wales.
