Age Cymru will host a festive concert to fundraise for the 11,000 Welsh elderly who will heartbreakingly spend Christmas alone this year.
Supported by Western Power Distribution, the concert is part of Age Cymru’s Spread the Warmth campaign, which helps elderly people facing loneliness and isolation throughout the festive period.
The concert will take place on 26 November at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and will feature seasonal favourites from the Morriston Orpheus Choir (singing in the video below), Charlie and Lizzie Lovell-Jones and Ysgol y Wern.
Funds raised through ticket sales will help provide winter health advice and Winter Celebration Grants for local elderly groups around Wales to organise a “festive get-together”.
The charity’s communications officer, Iwan Roberts, said: “This is our third Spread the Warmth Christmas concert and it is one of our landmark events as a charity. The feedback is always great and it gets people into the festive spirit.”
