Santa and elves are expected to take over Cardiff Bay for a 5K charity run to help prevent and treat heart disease.
On 8 December runners will be heading to Mermaid Quay for The Great Cardiff Bay Santa and Elf Dash. The event is in aid of Welsh Hearts, a charity dedicated to equipping Wales with automated external defibrillators which will help cut the fatalities of sudden cardiac arrests.
“Unfortunately, there are not enough defibrillators in Wales or trained people to give victims the best chance of survival during those first few critical minutes.” Said charity director Sharon Owen. “With more defibrillators we can provide a vital link in the chain of survival so that even more lives can be saved through-out Wales.”
Anyone is welcome to take part in the event and participants are encouraged to dress as festively as possible with a prize given for the best costume, which will take place alongside the dash.
