A Welsh businessman has launched a programme developing entrepreneurial talent
The Alacrity Foundation entrepreneurship programme is open to recent graduates.
A new entrepreneurship programme has been launched by a prominent Welsh businessman to help young people boost their business acumen.
The Newport based Alacrity Foundation Graduate Entrepreneurship programme, founded by Sir Terry Matthews’ Wesley Clover organisation, will teach engineering and business graduates how to develop products in the technology sector.
Ten graduates will be selected each year to be mentored by industry experts, with the target of setting up a company by the end of the twelve month programme.
The scheme, established in partnership with the Welsh Assembly and the Waterloo Foundation, has received around half of its £5.6m five year budget from the Welsh government.
Simon Gibson, Chief Executive of Wesley Clover Corporation said, “In Alacrity participants do not exit the programme with simply a job, they create a company in which they have ownership and executive responsibilities.”
