The cancer charity in Cardiff is facing great difficulties due to the pandemic, according to a professor of medicine
Professor Mason and the Cardiff North Association of Keyboard Enthusiasts played a range of classical music for Tenovus Cancer Care and streamed it live on Facebook from November 26th to 27th at Stanwell Road Baptist Church, Penarth.
“Thank you so much to everybody who has contributed, everybody who has donated, thanks to everybody who is participated in this,” said Professor Malcolm Mason.
As of 2 pm on 3 December, the 24-hours Pianothon campaign had raised over £3,000, which is more than 3 times their target funding.
Professor Malcolm Mason is a clinician who specializes in the management of urological cancers, in which capacity he is the Chairman of the UK National Cancer Research Institute’s Prostate Cancer Clinical Studies Group, he became Chair of Tenovus Cancer Care in March 2018.
Professor Mason said that they are fundraising for Tenovus Cancer Care as they bring treatment, emotional support and practical advice to the heart of the community, they’ve helped thousands of cancer patients cope after a diagnosis and given them hope for the future.
According to the official website, Tenovus cancer care is Wales’ leading cancer charity that wants to give anyone affected by cancer, in Wales and beyond, the best access to the treatment and support they need.
Sharon Richards, pianist from Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama took part in this challenge as well.
