Breakout Cardiff: Can You Escape?

Live action escape rooms are appearing everywhere. Many people still have no idea what they are while others are somewhat addicted to them.

The concept is simple – get locked in a room, solve puzzles, riddles, and unlock padlocks within the hour and escape. Cardiff has seen a boom in them and Breakout is one of the companies spearheading this exciting new past time.
Situated in the Brewery Quarter, Breakout has four different rooms for people to play and escape.

Classified is the room where you are spies in training and must breakout of the room in order to become a qualified spy. There are two of these rooms, which allows you to race your friends as well as the clock.
Cursed Carnival is their easiest room, perfect for beginners, and you have to return a cursed prize within the hour or you will be stuck in the carnival forever.

Sabotage is the sequal room to Classified. You have an hour to stop a missile launch and save the world. This room is their hardest with only 20% of people managing to break out.
The Sabotage room is covered in camouflage print and, like all of the rooms, Breakout have paid attention to every detail. Even the pin board has notices on for the soldiers to read.

In their newest room, Disturbed, your team are trying to find out what happened to your colleague, PC Richards and go to investigate a suspicious warehouse.

Once your time is up, you then get the chance to have your photo taken in front of the Breakout wall. Keeping the costumes on from the rooms is completely optional but adds to the fun!
Holding the 'I Broke Out' boards is a great feeling, but even if you don't manage to escape, you can still get a photo. There are also 'I Nearly Broke Out' boards for such an occasion.

The prices vary with how many people are set to play, but Breakout runs as one of the cheapest escape rooms with it being £36 for two people. The more people who play, the cheaper it gets per person. So it’s worth bringing your friends and sharing the experience with them.
