People with creativity are needed to support a new community narrative project
Creative people in the Cardiff area are needed by sharing their pandemic stories through artworks for a creative community narrative project.
‘Our creative place’ project will begin to collectively build the story of a creative region. People can tell their artwork stories of life and pandemic experience to public in the upcoming online exhibition held by Creatives Cardiff.
“The pandemic has proven how important it can be for creatives who are freelance or self-employed to feel part of a network and to have their voices expressed and understood especially at government and policy level,” said Vicki Sutton, project manager of the organization.
“We hope that this project can play a role in the wider regeneration and revitalization of neighbourhoods and communities, building confidence within and identity and reputation outside. This is going be vitally important as we move through COVID-19 and its increasing impacts.”
Vicki Sutton hopes that those creative works under the pandemic situation can play the role of reminder of what had happened when the pubic looks back after ten years.
The heart of this project is a desire to strengthen those connections across the creative community in the region as the individual stories of each of the creatives under the pandemic situation.
“We are aiming to bring together the creative community and making connections with the differences across the region,” said Vicki Sutton.
All self-employed and freelance people that come from different disciplines, ages, ethnicity background that work with creatives are welcomed to contribute to this project.
“We believe that the creative community is stronger when the people and thinking is joined up and working in collaboration rather than in silos,” said Vicki Sutton.
This project is now open for people that work with creatives from Cardiff area for application to contribute in it on Creatives Cardiff until 8 Feb 2021.
